Audition for Comics Watching Comics

So you want to be on Comics Watching Comics, we totally understand and it’s awesome! We don’t have any audition dates lined-up but here’s what you need to know for the future.

The Requirements:

You MUST have been CONSISTENTLY doing stand-up comedy for at LEAST 3 years. You need only take a look at the earlier seasons of Comics Watching Comics to know how serious we are about your experience level. The panelists will know if you’re stretching the truth and they will not hesitate to put you on blast.

Start getting that tight five-minute set ready! Your submission tape should not exceed five minutes (we will stop watching at 5:01). Your submission tape is not your greatest hits collection. We’re looking for a straight five minutes of solid comedy.

You have to be available for the entirety of the day we tape, with no exceptions. The day we tape is a six-hour commitment with a break for lunch and you must stay all day.

Transportation to and from NYC and lodging while you’re in the area is at your own expense.

If you are selected to perform as contestant, you will be on Amazon Video. You must sign a contestant release form prior to your set.

Important Information:

Can I bring guests?  Sure!  It’s going to be a $5 cover for guests and there may be a 2 drink minimum. Please let us know how many fans you’re bringing with you so we can alert the club.

If you haven’t seen any episodes yet, make sure you watch a season or eight! before applying. The first six seasons are currently streaming on Amazon Video. We strongly recommend taking notes while you watch. The panelists provide constant feedback that will help you prepare for success. You can also check out the trailers to get a sense of how the show is formatted.
